Frequently asked questions
How long does a search take?
It depends on the rarity of the stone. A fine stone of a few carats is usually found within a few weeks. An unheated stone of significant weight, or a very precise colour, may take longer. The timeframe is agreed together from the first conversation.
Which laboratories certify the stones?
Every stone comes with the report of a recognised independent laboratory. The most respected for coloured stones are SSEF, Gübelin, GRS, GIA and the Laboratoire Français de Gemmologie. For major pieces we prefer the Swiss laboratories.
Can I choose the weight and the cut?
Yes. You give us a weight range and a shape (oval, cushion, emerald cut, round, pear, heart, radiant or cabochon), and we search for stones that match. As soon as we find one, we send you its photographs, a video and its report.
Am I committed by making a request?
No. The request and the first conversation carry no obligation. An in-depth search may involve a deposit, deducted from the price of the stone if you acquire it. The terms are presented to you before any commitment.
How does payment work?
By bank transfer, once the stone is chosen and its report verified. An invoice is issued for every acquisition. We do not accept cash payments above the legal limits.
Can I see the stone in person?
Yes, in Paris, by appointment. For clients abroad, we provide detailed video under several lights and the full laboratory report before any decision.
How is the stone delivered?
At a private viewing in Paris, by appointment, or by secured transport insured for its full value, anywhere in the world.
Do you make the jewellery?
No. The House supplies the stone only. The jewel is made by the jeweller of your choice, and we can recommend a workshop if you wish.
